The Diocesan Youth Leadership Course aims to train and enable the set up, facilitation and running of a Spirit Youth Group for TY participants’ age range 15-17 years of age. You can check out the Leadership Course brochure here Spirit Youth Leadership Brochure 2023
The following Facilitation Modules will be covered during the course:
- Framework of a Spirit Youth Group
- Basic Facilitation and Group Work Skills
- Personal & Spiritual Development Programme
- Safeguarding Training in Diocesan policies and procedures
- JPII Awards and Parish Participation
- Placement opportunity for training purposes
The Personal and Spiritual Development aspect of the course will include the following Modules titles:
- Interpersonal Communication Techniques
- Observation and Assertiveness Techniques
- Positive Self-Image
- Relationships and Coping Mechanisms
- Peer Trust and Support
- Personal Space
- Me, myself and God.
Duration of Course: Once a week for 8 weeks (3 hours per week) ending with a residential weekend.
Start date: Monday 2nd of October, 2023
Costs: €100 per person (could be sponsored by school/parish)
Location: Diocesan Centre, Redmond House, St Peters College, Wexford.
