Just €18.30 feeds a child for a whole school year.

Every child deserves an education and enough to eat.

Mary’s Meals vision is that every child receives one daily meal in their place of education and that all those who have more than they need, share with those who lack even the most basic things.  Working together with those who share our vision, we believe there is no good reason why this cannot be realised.

Open quote mark What’s important to us is the hungry child. When there are hungry children in front of us today, we’re going to feed them, and at the same time we’re going to work on the solution to getting them fed in the long term, creating a global movement of people who believe in this vision. Close quote mark

Mary’s Meal’s Mission

Mary’s Meals is a global movement supported by people from many walks of life and different backgrounds. The mission of Mary’s Meals is to enable people to offer their money, goods, skills, time, or prayer, and through this involvement, provide the most effective help to those suffering the effects of extreme poverty in the world’s poorest communities. We welcome all into the Mary’s Meals family and we believe everyone has something important to contribute to the realisation of this vision.

The Diocese of Ferns is very proud to support the Mary’s Meal Charity.  Through our own educational system in post primary schools, we hope to encourage our young people to support their brothers and sisters in other countries.  This is hopes to achieve through the following:

Bishop of Waterford Lismore; Phonsie Cullinan officially launched the project along with principals, teachers and the students over Zoom in late March of this year.
