The death has occurred of V Rev Canon Brendan Kirby. Reposing at Knockeen Nursing Home today Tues (3/6/14) 3pm-8pm and Wed(4/6/14) 3pm-6pm with removal at 6pm to Rowe St Church Wexford. Funeral Mass on Thursday at 12pm with burial afterwards in Crosstown cemetery. May he Rest in Peace.
Canon Kirby was ordained at St. Peters College Wexford in June 1947. He ministered as CC in Newcastle-upon-Tyne in England for a year before being appointed curate in Ballyfad in 1948 where he remained for 14 years before being appointed curate in Gorey in June 1962. He was appointed Parish Priest in Cloughbawn in November 1972. He retired from active ministry in November 1992.
