An Invitation for The Year of Mercy.  To mark the Year of Mercy here in the Diocese of Ferns, three days have been set aside (Tues 8th to Thurs 10th March) at St. Aidan’s Cathedral, Enniscorthy. Beginning with 10am Mass each day and concluding with a service of reconciliation each evening at 7.30pm, the days will feature an opportunity to pass through the Holy Door; to avail of all day confessions and prayer before the Blessed Sacrament; to experience the blessing of the sick at 3pm and to hear various speakers at all scheduled evening 7.30pm services.

You are asked to bring a year of mercy candle  to the Cathedral to be blessed during the three days; to help a neighbour or friend to attend the blessing of the sick; to come walk through the Holy Door; have your own confession heard and to pray with us as a fellow member of our Diocese for the intentions of the Holy Father and of the Church.  Joining with the Church throughout the world, may we hear the invitation of Pope Francis afresh – “It is not easy to entrust oneself to God’s mercy, because it is an abyss beyond our comprehension. But we must! … “Oh, I am a great sinner!” “All the better! Go to Jesus: He likes you to tell him these things!” He forgets, He has a very special capacity for forgetting. He forgets, He kisses you, He embraces you and He simply says to you: “Neither do I condemn you; go, and sin no more” (Jn 8:11).
